Jade Carey, Olympic gold medalist, former Beaver student-athlete and Oregon State graduate Class of 2026, will be the keynote speaker and deliver the commencement address at Oregon State University's 157th Commencement Ceremony.

Jade has inspired the Oregon State community and audiences worldwide through her leadership and exceptional accomplishments as a member and student assistant coach of the OSU women’s gymnastics team and as a representative of the United States. She competed in the 2020 and 2024 Summer Olympics, winning a gold medal on floor exercise in 2020 and a bronze medal on vault in 2024, and contributing to the U.S. Team gold medal in 2024. Over her career, Carey has earned ten Olympic and World Championship medals, making her the fifth-most decorated U.S. gymnast of all time.

At OSU, she earned numerous Pac‑12 titles and demonstrated exceptional versatility across all events. She is a 12‑time NCAA All‑American, a 13‑time Regular Season All‑American, and the 13th gymnast in NCAA history to achieve a “Gym Slam,” earning a perfect 10 in every event. Carey was the 2025 AAI Award winner, honoring the nation’s most outstanding senior female gymnast.

Jade’s commitment to community service, and dedication to advocating for women and girls in sports reflect Oregon State’s commitment to student success, leadership and the broader impact our graduates have in the world. Jade, who grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, will graduate with the Class of 2026 with a Bachelor of Science degree in digital communication arts.

OSU is honored that Jade will deliver the 2026 commencement address and inspire our graduates as they begin the next chapter of their lives.
